After much studying the algorithm Yelp uses to filter reviews,  It actually works in a backwards manner opposed to Yelp stating it weeds out less credible reviews. Go to any Yelp business listing and notice under the very last review posted in a smaller lighter font in parenthesis the word filtered. Some business listings have 10 to 12 and some have over 100 reviews filtered. Now to actually see these reviews you have to click on the word “filtered” and then enter a captcha . You will then see many reviews positive is the trend we have found after researching hundreds of Yelp Listings Nationwide are hidden away in the filtered section. Many of the reviews appear legitimate by reviewers that have posted other Yelp Reviews. We have tested the filter by using legitimate Yelp login’s and checking in to the business on our Yelp App on our mobile device and still the review was filtered. The Strange thing is when we put a review in for less than 3 stars , it was displayed on the listing not in filtered! Business Owners if you are sick and tired of feeling helpless at the Review Site Bully and how it is negatively affecting your bottom line, we ask you to join forces and help funnel all energy to stop the unfair filter and even the playing field. We know that there is power in numbers and business owners scattered all across the U.S. need to join forces and push back to end the Review Bully Yelp. No other site has such an unfair algorithm , and because of the popularity of the website , having a bad Yelp listing can devastate a small business. Our aim is to educate consumers  and end the unfair practices that Yelp uses to create listings that do not reflect the true overall customer testimonials of a business. Take note at a businesses online Yelp listing and compare it to their Google, Yahoo or Citysearch, you will see the discrepancy. Yelp is setup to have bad reviews post and good reviews filtered. Many class actions lawsuits from business owners  allege that Yelp profits from creating a need to business owners to want to pay for advertising on the site to get a more balanced filter. The business owners complain that they were made to feel the only way to display more positive reviews by paying for ads and it would allow more 4 and 5 star reviews be displayed versus being filtered and hidden and not counting towards their overall rating on the site.
